  The Lost by Natasha Preston The Lost follows a story about Piper and Hazel, two best friends who think they can solve the mystery of why teenagers are just up and disappearing from the small town they call home. It's not uncommon for young adults to venture outside the town, but that's not what's happening here.  Enter Caleb, Owen, Matt, and lastly Evan. The four psychopaths who started the kidnappings. All so they could play a variety of messed up games with their victims. Stripping away at the life and will to live that these people had. Replacing it with fighting to the death, being waterboarded for hours, and a few other things.  This book had me hooked. The mystery of who and why gnawed at you till the very end. If you decide to give this mystery/thriller a read, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And lastly, remember stranger danger. ☺ 304 Pages

  The Testing - Joelle Charbonneau The front of the book has a review claiming that all fans of The Hunger Game will simply devour.  That review was pretty spot on, at least in my case.  I ate every word written until I found myself at the end.  I even bounced between the book and audio because I could not get enough.  Maybe because it was so much like The Hunger Games.  The transportation method  was very similar.  The testing students seeing the different cities and classes as they traveled.  Being sent to an unknown location to fight it out to the end.  They may have had more people coming out alive, versus The Hunger Games but it was pretty similar.   And don't even get me started on how badly I wanted Cia to react during the officials watching her be tested like Katniss did.  With all that I still loved it.  I rooted for Cia to cross that finish line.  I swooned when Michael was proud of her for finding the ...

  Lightlark by Alex Aster  Lightlark follows the story of six rulers, each from a different realm. Every 100 years the island of Lightlark appears for only 100 days, so they may try to break the curses placed on each realm. The catch is one ruler must die to save them all.  I was genuinely excited to read this book.  I for some reason needed two weeks to read it, as it moved slowly. Then bam in the last five chapters the pace picks up. I also wished for more of a backstory on Azul and Cleo as they played a role but it felt more like a filler. It seemed most of the book focused on Celeste, Isla, Grim, and Oro. Which is fair as they are the main characters, but still.  Maybe that will play into the second book if/when it releases. As the ending left you dangling off a cliff for a second.  If that happens, I will probably still read it because I need to know what happens to Lightlark after everything.  Thank you!!  Pages-416
